Why do I see a Red Error Border around my Map?

A red error border means a recent action has broken Dynamic Map's element structure — usually by deleting, moving, or duplicating a cru-ncf- element. Fix: press CMD+Z (Mac) or CTRL+Z (Windows) to undo. If that fails, open Dynamic Map App and press Sync. As a last resort, delete the map and re-create it using Dynamic Map App.

A red error border around your map in Webflow Designer means that a recent action has broken Dynamic Map's internal element structure. This is a recoverable error — in most cases a single undo resolves it immediately.

What the Error Looks Like

The error banner reads: "ERROR: Press CMD+Z or STRG+Z to undo your last action. Something you've done has broken Dynamic Map for Webflow. Open Dynamic Map App if undoing your last action didn't work out."

How to Fix It

  1. Undo your last action — press CMD+Z (Mac) or CTRL+Z (Windows) and check if the red border disappears.
  2. If undo doesn't work, open Dynamic Map App and press Sync, then follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. If neither resolves it, delete the map and re-create it using Dynamic Map App from scratch.

What Causes This Error?

The red border appears after accidentally deleting, moving, or duplicating a core Dynamic Map element. Any element whose class begins with cru-ncf- carries structural attributes that are critical to Dynamic Map's functionality — these elements must never be deleted, duplicated, or moved outside their intended position in the Webflow Navigator.

💡 Diagnostic tip: Check the Webflow Navigator for any cru-ncf- elements that appear in unexpected positions or are missing entirely — this will usually pinpoint what triggered the error.
